Mink Sunday - ROOTS
Where it all began...
Take two 16 year old girls, a brand spanking new drivers license, and a case of the "Sunday Scaries". The cure? Mink Sunday.
Laying in bed last night (where I do my best thinking) I decided then and there - It's time to start my blog. As something I have been putting off for forever now, I've always known I wanted an expressive outlet that could become sort of a "grab bag" of the latest and greatest thoughts, ideas and discoveries I have made. That seemed easy enough, but then came (what I thought would be) the hard part - The Naming.
In a push for total honesty on this blog I would be lying if I said I didn't already have a baby name list, a dream shopping "wish list", a daily "calorie counter" list, a friends/family birthday list...Do I love lists? YES -I get it from my mother. So that seemed like the natural way to pick my Blog name. As I sat down in my office today to do what I do best, procrastinate, I began to brain storm names. Brains are funny...I don't know how or why it came to me, but the first, last and only name written on my yellow legal pad was Mink Sunday. A blast from the past...
So there you have it - Mink Sunday it is. I won't bore you with the exact details of my youth and my weekly traditions of Mink Sunday but I will say, if you are ever having a case of the Sunday Scaries, put on your mother's mink coat and take yourself for a drive around town. Instant cure...
