My dream home via


1. Wallpaper is coming back in a BIG way, and I am totally on board. Fun Designers Tip: If you are having trouble committing, try wallpapering just the ceiling!

2. We recently watched the movie About Time and it was so good which honestly, I didn't expect.

3. I picked up these shoes on sale and can't wait to style them this Fall!

4. This Best of Summer 2016 list from Coastal Living has me feeling ready for sun, sand and swimming! 

5. I really want to try out this makeup brush. The reviews are so good!

6. I am all about the Roberta Roller Rabbit Gudli necklace for this summer. Shop more colors here.

7. Loving this look on Ashley from Turquoise and Teale! Shopbop just restocked the blouse, but be quick because it sells out fast!

As Summer creeps in, a good pair of sunglasses is ESSENTIAL. 

I'm somewhat of a collector when it comes to sunnies. I've got a great mix of investment pieces, as well as affordable trendy/fun pairs (this is a great company for wallet-friendly statement frames).

If you want to build your own collection, these are the 5 pairs to start with:

Aviators - These transcend time, gender and generations (my dad and I wear the same Ray Ban pair). They come in various sizes though, so be sure to try on different pairs & brands to find the right shape for your face. 

Colored Mirror Lenses - You've probably seen these everywhere, but find a way to make the style your own. There are so different shapes to choose from. I like these and these.

Oversized - This Jackie O look will never go out of style. They'll turn any outfit instantly chic, and are also very necessary on your hangover/sick days. I have/swear by this pair.

Clubmasters - This classic pair is the perfect touch to your cable knit and barn jacket ensemble. This crisp Fall day!

Cat Eye - I would have never thought I'd wear a cat eye frame but this pair has me converted. The key it to do a subtle cat eye frame. Nothing too extreme.

This is a PSA: 
I want to fill my kitchen with all of the above beauties. I actually already own the feather cheese knife set (one of my favorite wedding gifts we received). 

I am just SO drawn to barware and serving pieces with nature-like details (think twigs, wood, feathers, branches, greenery, vegetation...you get the picture). Though simplistic in design, these pieces will make a statement on your dining table or buffet. Bonus points for items plated in gold.

Each season it's a good idea to sort through your clothes, tossing the faded/out dated and taking inventory of what's missing. Typically you only need to add a small handful of new items to amp up your style and maintain your cool-girl-chic look. 

Above I've narrowed down my 8 must-have items for Spring 2016. With these few pieces, you can create endless outfit options, most of which will take you from the office to cocktails with your gal pals.

A classic denim jacket will always be IN. Dress it down with some slip-on sneakers, or drape it over your shoulders for an evening out.

A statement clutch will skyrocket your basic outfit. Feathers are always a good idea. Also loving this one.

When we were on our honeymoon, I basically lived in bikinis and sarong cover-ups
it was so easy to quickly tie-it-up and go. Plus you can style these in like, 15 different ways to mix up your look.

I love the play on the classic trench with this black version. Since spring can be fickle with the weather, opt for this light-weight option in an unexpected color.

A flirty blouse. Need I say more? ruffles, layers, lace - pick your poison and pop it on under the denim jacket.

This cool suede wrap necklace is my current obsession.  I was a fan of the bolo necklace a few summers back, and this updated version blends the best of bolo with a classic 90's choker. Sign me up!

Girly shorts are great for a day party, but also look adorable paired with wedges for an evening out. I love florals, stripes, pastels - you name it. There are some great pairs here

I'll always love a classic stiletto heel, but lately the stacked heel has me won over. They are so comfortable with the extra support!

I'm on a major espadrille kick this season, so I may have let out a tiny squeal when I found this adorable, affordable, playful bunch. It's hard to pick a favorite, but obviously my heart skipped a beat for the striped Bombshell pair. And that Holy Cow pair is practically made for me since I utter (sorry, had to) the phrase at least once a week. 
But I don't know, something about the Easy Tiger pair is calling my name. 
What did I tell you? Hard to choose just one!

Serenity Spa Blue

We're going 50 shades of blue in this pretty little bedroom vignette today!
Since I work in interior design, I am constantly saving beautiful pieces of furniture in my favorites tab. (like, daily).
 J and I are looking to upgrade our bed (helloooo king size-woo!) which will include a new bed (head & foot board) as well as all new bedding (heaven!!).

I've been furiously pinning images trying to narrow down a color scheme, but I keep coming back to beautiful shades of spa blue!
I keep trying to explore other color options since my childhood bedroom was all blue and white and our bedroom in DC was all navy and white, but there is something so calming about pale tones of baby blue.

I included a great bench that's on my design wish list, as well as my favorite dog beds that come in a TON of color and pattern options (seriously, these are so good). 
I'm also so so in love with that funky lady print (which is under $100!) 
If you are in search of amazing faux floral arrangements, check out NDI. These pieces are pricey, but look so real and will last for years!

P.S. If you're not a dog person, you probably won't like it here in my little corner of the Internet. I'm (not so casually) dog obsessed which is why you get a Bug look-alike on the right and a sweet Westie (the next dog we want to get) on the left.

It's probably because I came from such a great one! My mama is a fun loving, hard working, ever caring, boss lady and really, she deserves more than just one day to celebrate her awesomeness!

But since we only get one, that just means we have to make it extra special!

So, I've rounded up some gifts she (or any mom) would love (ok, really these are gifts I love) and thought it would be fun to do a little get-to-know of my Mom.

Was born on Christmas Day which is why she is named Holly!

Was so obsessed with Downtown Abbey, I was legit worried for her when it ended.

Has a not so secret crush on Nick Cannon (no one knows why).

Loves flowers and is amazing at arranging them!

Can't get enough of her sweet grand baby, Isla.

Attends the Philadelphia Orchestra every Friday & volunteers at the Philadelphia Flower Show each year.

Is one of the funniest people I know (even when she's not trying to be).

Let's talk about unmentionables. 
Not a subject we typically touch on here, but certainly an important one! 
I've rounded up my go-to, never fail, absolute favorite items in each category below. 
What are your favorites? Please share!

Camisole/tanks: These Theory tanks are 100% the best in the business. But as to be expected, you'll have to pay top dollar. 
Totally worth every penny though, promise!
I have had this tank for over 4 years and it's still in great condition. Its just the right amount of tightness, but is a very thin material so it works really well under any blouse or sweater. 


Pajamas: Eberjey PJ's are the softest. Period. They sell the best two-piece sets and the most gorgeous dainty little night gowns.

Bras: I always thought Soma was a weird, old lady brand, but then I tried one of their bras and I was instantly converted. Especially for ladies who are well endowed in that region - this one will be your best friend.

Underwear: For undies I stay true to my two favorite brands: Cosabella (also sells great pjs) and Hanky Panky. Both lines offer great colors and a range of styles, and their products last if properly taken care of (i.e. delicate cycle, no dryer).

Robe: My mom bought me this Oscar de la Renta robe as a little gift for my honeymoon and I still wear it pretty much day. It's super light and airy and is made from such a pretty, delicate fabric. It's a great summer weight robe to pop on while you blow dry your hair or do your make-up (warning, it is sheer).

Grey Days: Target FTW

Grey is one of the most serene color pallets you can use in your home. 
When coupled with cool tones like silver and shades of spa blue it creates a perfect tranquil retreat. 

In both home design and fashion I am a strong believer in investing in large staple pieces (a great bag or piece of furniture) and then filling in around it with less expensive, fun items. 

Enter Target. 

You have to have a good eye and great timing, but when the stars align just right, you can score some really amazing pieces from this retail giant. I will never forget the year of the coral X-benches (seen here). I had to go to probably 4 stores to acquire two of these, but boy was it worth it. How high-end do they look styled here?

I love the carved wood collection featured above (that foot stool has my heart) and the stone pineapple statuary is a great find too - did you know pineapples in the home symbolize warmth, friendship and hospitality?

Everyone has their thing...for me, I'll admit it, it's shoes. 
But honestly, if that's my only vice, I think were in pretty good shape (even though it drives J insane). We have a little rule in our house (which I ignore) where any new pair of shoes that comes in, one pair must go out. 
How rude is that?!

Anyway, here is a sneak peak into a few pairs I have my eye on. Ok Ok I confess, those rose gold strappy sandals (#8) are already in the mail on their way to me (this is a test to see if J reads my blog - we'll see if I get in trouble for that one). 
My cart runneth over...

I also can't end this shoe rant without touching on those insaaaaane butterfly flats. I have never seen a prettier shoe in my life. 
I HAVE TO HAVE THEM.

I did a little shopping this past weekend and was completely inspired to revamp my spring wardrobe and add a little color to my world.
(I bought this in white and blue, and also picked up a great black tee with a gorgeous cream and gold, Chanel-like braided trim)


Side note: I was so relieved to find that Banana Republic is still killing it even after announcing that Marissa Webb was stepping down. If you haven't been in a BR in a while, take a spin through your nearest location - honestly I have found some of my very favorite recent purchases there (and bonus: they are always having a sale!)

A great console table is essential, and maybe even more important is your lighting (always include a table lamp even with recessed lighting). 

This is also the first place in your home where you want to place fresh flowers or some sort of plant life. 

Hide away odds and ends by utilizing baskets and decorative boxes, and lastly have some fun in this space (pops of color, cheeky furniture pieces - hello those hoof table legs?!)


My foyer Must Haves:

I am ALL about a suede shirt this season and this cheery rose hue is about as girly as it gets!

Of all the Celine bags, this one is certainly my favorite. Love those loose hanging ties.

I wouldn't say Bug is spoiled but... She will definitely be getting this Amy Berry puppy dog bed (which can also be monogrammed ---> insert heart eye emoji)

I am so seriously obsessed with this trellis mirror for target. I want to buy a bunch of them to puzzle fit together to make an amazing mirrored statement wall. Hellloooooo #DIY.

The detail on this shoe is simply gorgeous with the exposed stitching and gold tipped heel. They also remind me of the M.Gemi Stellato shoe but are $70 cheaper!

As mentioned above, this piece is my spirit stool. It's neutral, it's textured, it's simple and it's beautiful. Consider me SOLD.

Clearly I have a thing for blue right now. 
This edition of The Cut is quite possibly my favorite thus far. So much texture and pattern to swoon over in the perfect round-up of girly glam pieces. 

Lets take a moment to pause on that nail head room screen (#12). If I told you it was from Target, would you believe me? If I told you it was from Target and was also on SALE would you faint right there at  your desk? Well, prepare yourself because that baby is Safavieh for Target and is on sale for only $288! It also comes in this dreamy taupe color which officially sealed the deal for me. 

I need another pair of leopard shoes (or leopard anything really) like I need a hole in the head, but come on!! These slides are a have.to.have for this summer.

And that Rebecca Taylor dress just might be the ticket for an early September wedding I have this year.

I am a long time Club Monaco fan…you probably are too. 
But lately, they just really get me. 

The detail they put into their pieces is just so spot on. Whether it's a tassel, a tie, a cross over or a ruffle, their simple pieces feel cozy, casual and super feminine which constantly secures them a place at the top of my wish list.

What I really love is how they keep all of their colors completely neutral (please don't hate me/my redundancy) meaning each piece is a great basic to add to your wardrobe (even though they are anything but basic!). They can so easily be switched around and intermixed amongst your other items - seriously so versatile!

My Five Beauty Must Haves

I try to keep my makeup routine fairly simple since I get reeeeeally antsy when the process takes any longer than 10-15 minutes (unless someone else is doing my makeup, then I could sit there all day).

I have tried endless products over the years, some that have stuck with me and others that I've tossed to the side. So, I thought I would share my top 5, ride or die favorites. 
Some are newer to my repertoire, and some are old friends, tried and true. 
However, all are 100% keepers.
Enjoy!


1. Peter Thomas Roth - Glycolic Acid 3 Percent Facial Wash - This is a new one for me and I am obsessed with it! The wash is gentle (doesn't sting) while using it, but immediately after you feel the effects (skin feels tight and a little dry). Slather on your favorite moisturizer after use (I use this one) and you're all set. My skin literally glows after using this!


2. Laura Geller - Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator  - I always try the latest and greatest when it comes to illuminators, and always come up disappointed…until now. I've been searching for that striking cheekbone glow (can anyone teach me how to strobe?) and this product gives you just that! It is so gorgeous and super easy to use. Definitely recommend it!

3. Perricone MD - No Mascara Mascara - This is an old favorite of mine. The cool part is the duel action brush. You use the thick side of the brush to stroke on the product, and then the comb side to pull the mascara through the lashes. It is my very favorite mascara (tied with this one)

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz - ICYMI I previously did a post on brows. For years I never did anything beyond occasional waxing for my brows, but lord has that changed. I use the Brow Wiz pencil to fill mine in and smooth the shape and it really does wonders for framing your face. Please get this product and consult a Sephora makeup artist for tips and tricks - your world will change (dramatic).

5. Chanel Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Color -  In 402 Adrienne - This is my go to lip shade for day and night. It's a gorgeous neutral and has a super creamy texture to it. This is the one lip product I will always have in my purse.
