I plan on trying each of these at some point this year. What daring nails have you sported? Leave a comment and let me know or email at Minksundaylove@gmail.com. Charles Emerson Designs - Product Review

Today I am so excited to introduce to you Charles Emerson Designs, a jewelry and accessory company that I randomly stumbled upon on Facebook. I checked out their website and was immediately hooked. You might remember this little pretty from my recent post here. Well it arrived and I LOVE it. The price was right, the quality is great (doesn't look or feel cheap) and maybe most importantly, the customer service was amazing. I wanted the Ella necklace in the beautiful green color but found it was sold out. I left a comment on the Facebook page (which I never do) and within moments I received a response. Erin, the founder of the company, who I was chatting back and forth with was extremely attentive and really sweet. She showed me the grey version (it was not up on the site at the time) and I was sold. The day after I ordered they were having a special where they threw in a FREE pair of earrings with each order. I was bummed that I missed the offer but Erin hooked me up and included a pair of pretty pink studs!

Head on over to the website and get shopping! Here are a few other items I have my wish list!

I am obsessed with this blue zebra scarf!

Love the equestrian feel of this brown leather wrap bracelet

These beauties come in a bazillion different colors and only $12!

Hello Cartier look-a-like...You will be mine!

Trending Tuesday - Scuba Do? Or Scuba Don't?

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Hi Babes,

Today I'm introducing a new segment (thanks to the suggestion of my wonderful friend Drake). Every Tuesday we will take a look at a current trend and decide if it's a DO or a Don't. Usually I like to kick things off on a positive note, but there is one trend I cannot get on board with (I actually didn't even mean to just pun). That would be the SCUBA trend...I mean what??

I get the bodycon dresses, I mean Herve Leger nailed it for a while there (mehh, over it now) and by all means a tight LBD will never lead us astray, but the scuba sensation I just do not get. I didn't feel cute when I put on my scuba suit in 10th grade to go swimming with dolphins and I can't imagine much of a difference trying to squeeze my bod into a scuba dress. Just typing that makes me confused. We don't need insulation when going out for a night on the town, if anything we need breathability! And that fabric - itchy, cheap, thick...just some adj's that come to mind.

That's a NO thanks for me but would love to hear your thoughts on this trend. Is it a DO or a DON'T for you? Chime in and always feel free to drop me a note in the comments section or at minksundaylove@gmail.com!

Until next Tuesday my friends....

A scuba shrug? no no no no.

Music Monday

Monday, January 28, 2013

Happy Monday! Actually, Mondays are theeeee worst but at least it's over and only 4 more until freedom! Today's music Monday is for real, sincere, genuine music lovers. It's a long one, 9:25 to be exact, but its one of the coolest things I have ever seen/heard. If you decide to commit the next 9 min of your life to this, you HAVE to watch the video as well. This is ONE man doing this entire song when it sounds like an entire band of musicians. Craaaaaaaazy..... Seriously insane talent here! The song starts slow and has multiple crescendos so commit until the end. Ocean is mine & J's go to for a long drive in the Spring, windows down. Enjoy!

PS - I have a new segment beginning tomorrow! Keep an eye out for Trending Tuesday! More to come tomorrow...

Music Monday

Monday, January 21, 2013

Gonna keep this one short. Today's Music Monday is one of my favorite Ed Sheeran songs. Upbeat and also lyrically good. J is obsessed with it and specifically requested that it was today's song so please enjoy the music....Oh, and the hysterical video. I was laughing hard...

Strike A Mood

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't light candles in my apartment. After a long day of work, on a cozy Sunday afternoon, a scented candle really makes your space feel more homey and calm. There are always a ton of candle posts floating around the blogosphere. Yes diptyque, Jo Malone and Tocca are all amazing, but what I want to focus on are the strikers. There are some seriously cute match strikers out there that can become the perfect accent piece to your coffee table or book shelf. Here are a few of my faves...

Squirrel Match Strike
This Jonathan Adler squirrel striker is so stinkin cute.

Obviously sweat this one since it has my name on it!

How adorable are these?!?
If you don't do a striker, keep some pretty littles around the house.

This Neiman Marcus gold striker is so chic...Obsessed.

Had to include these - Perfect for a wedding party favor no??

Music Monday!!

Monday, January 14, 2013

Following along with my reader request, here comes music Monday round two! You might know this song but if not, it's definitely one you want to add to your Itunes. A cross between U2 and The Killers, Awolnation's Kill Your Heros is sooooo good. I like it for a gym song, a car song, a putting on my makeup song...Bottom line it's a good tune. Get itttttt

Ignore the weird Mr. Rogers-esq video (actually, close your eyes) and fast forward to 55 seconds in to get to the good stuff. Enjoy!

It's a Miracle!!

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

I'm a carb addict and it's a problem. My biggest weakness is pasta - seriously crave it every day. Spaghetti and meatballs, penne a la vodka, mac and cheese, I love it all. I used to be able to eat pasta like it was going out of style and nothing would happen. Now I am 27 and don't have the same luxury unless I'm OK with becoming Gilbert Grape's recluse of a mom...I'm not. That was all until I discovered Miracle Noodles. I read online about these noodles and it seemed too good to be true. Made of water, glucomannan (soluble fiber) and a calcium additive (no soy, gluten, or wheat), its amazing these things can physically exist. I'm serious, zero calories, zero grams of fat, zero grams of sugar its like air....but it's noodles. I am going to give these a whirl and pray for success. If these are as good as they seem, I can be in noodle heaven every single night. Has anyone tried these? If so, what did you think?? Let me know Minksundaylove@gmail.com!

Miracle Noodles can be purchased at Whole Foods

Reader Request

Monday, January 7, 2013

My lovely reader, Chris David (yes two first names <3) requested that I make Mondays "Music Mondays" with my song pick of the week. This works out famously as I came across an amazzzzing cover today. This band is UNREAL...I will say it again UN. REAL.

Their name is Walk Off The Earth and they do mostly covers but re-invent them in crazy ways. I have to say their renditions are far better than the originals. Listen to this cover of Taylor Swift's I Knew You were Trouble and fall in love with Walk Off The Earth....Then go check out their cover of Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know. Then pick your jaw up off the floor...

That Beat Boxing?!?!? I can't even...

DIY To Definitely Try!

Hi Friends!

Here's a little treat to brighten up your Monday blues. My friend Jamie came across an amazing DIY that is 100% worth the time spent. For around $50 this little gem can be yours. I might have to try it myself - I'm thinking emerald green with those gold accents would be just the ticket for my mostly navy and white bedroom. Below is Jamie and her sister Kelsey's versions to prove how do-able this really is. Have any questions? Feel free to email me at Minksundaylove@gmail.com!

Above Kelsey works on another DIY vase project while waiting for her drawers to dry.

Some more waiting....

Above: The finished products! These seriously look store bought.

And finally, you can't have a new piece of furniture without styling it. Jamie did an A+ job with her short stack floral arrangement, a softly scented candle and a selection of her favorite coffee table books. Curious about that gold giraffe? $10 from AC Moore and a can of gold spray paint. DIY is seriously all the rage...

Have a good week pumpkins!

Girls with Pearls.

Saturday, January 5, 2013

Coming to you live from my bed...still ughh... Thought I'd share a new accessory that I'm SUPER into right now. In fact, my fingertips are still warm from having just ordered some off of Etsy! If you caught the Spring 2012 Ready to Wear Chanel show, then you got a healthy dose of under the sea magic and alabaster beauty. As per usual the clothing did not disappoint, but what I really couldn't keep my eyes off of was the HAIR. Enter pearl bobbies.

At first glance these might seem too bridal for everyday wear, but I plan to rock these daytime, nightime and really any time. Picture a messy top knot with one or two of these bobbies twisted into the sides, or long loose waves with a few random pieces pulled back and secured with the delicate pearl detail. I LOVE this. Pick some up off Etsy for as little as $12 or DIY it!

If princess perfect gives us the stamp of her approval, then I think we can go forward pearl clad and confident!
